ABOUT US

Project developed by university students from Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge Campus). Joana and João are from the area of science and they will address several aspects of it. They will travel from DNA to the Universe. Hugo, will focus on the field of science history and other topics related to the main theme of the project. Every month a special article will be published by a guest that addresses the topic "Science in my area" in order to obtain testimonies of how science has evolved in the most diverse sectors.

JOANA DOMINGUES

Joana, a native of northern Portugal, moved to Cambridge in 2018 where she began her studies in Marine Biology at Anglia Ruskin University. Made a summer course “Philosophy of Sciences” in 2013, at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, in which the project “After all what is science?” in 2014. In addition to her general interest in biology, has a strong interest in genetics, likes to read and go to museums. Joana argues that science has a huge impact in all areas.

JOÃO SANTOS

Welcome everyone to our blog,
I am Joao and I am a zoology student at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK. 
Since I was a kid I always was fascinated by animals and that lead me to where I am now. I have volunteered in a dog shelter for about 1 year and in my free time, I have done bird watching and wildlife photography. I have also gone on a field trip to the Island of Rum to observe the red deer population for 5 days.

HUGO VAZ PONTES MESTRE

Hugo, born in the South of Portugal, has been a history student at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge since 2018. In 2015 he volunteered at the National Museum of Archeology in Lisbon, in a project that aimed to better the conditions of the museum itself. Your contribution to this project aims to focus on the “History of Science”. His hobbies include visiting museums, watching documentaries and reading. He argues that all moments in history are relevant with a view to building a better future.
